ILCA / Laser Carbon Fibre Tiller
Our NEW CFbyLandL® carbon fibre tiller for ILCA or Laser.
There are two types available - for the older Laser and the low profile version for the newer ILCA - please see details of both tiller types below.
Our innovative ILCA / Laser tiller has the following features:
- Metal traveller wear plate is inset into the tiller to keep it low profile and eliminate the need for tape to hold it in place.
- The inboard / cockpit end of the tiller is solid (not open ended) and has a slim depth to help prevent any potential 'snagging' on the traveller cleat.
- Supplied with our Pop_Off_UJ® base (compatible with some other brands of UJs) which is held in place with countersunk stainless steel bolts (not rivets) to make life easier if you ever need to change the UJ base (no drilling and riveting required).
- Supplied with fitted Clamcleat® CL277AN side entry cleat on an isolator plate.
- Slim design (only a fraction wider than the UJ base).
- Lightweight. Weighs around just 285 grammes including UJ base and cleat.
- 972mm long x 27mm wide (not including cleat) x 10mm deep (inboard end not including UJ base) to16mm deep (not including end of tiller which goes into the rudder stock).
Two tiller types available:
The Laser type tiller is suitable for Laser hulls built Performance Sailcraft Europe up to March 2019. This is also suitable for the current 'Laser' (not ILCA) which is still built by Laser Performance.
Stock being produced and will be available shortly (October 2024) - pre-order yours now!
The ILCA type tiller is suitable for the Ovington UK built ILCAs (March 2019 to date), the Australian built Lasers, Performance Sailcraft Australia (PSA) built ILCAs and Devoti (EU) built ILCAs.
Please note we add three small circular marks in the shape of an L underneath the rudder stock / head end of the tiller to identify it as the lower profile ILCA type.
If you try and use the low profile ILCA type tiller on an older Laser it will fowl the traveller cleat and deck.
